Terms

A free website with no accounts and nothing to buy. These are short because there is very little to agree to.

Who publishes this

carry·the·one is published by PixOpus LLC. Anything you want to raise — a mistake on a page, a puzzle that looks wrong, a question about these terms — reaches a person at [email protected], which is the only contact address there is.

Using it

Use it however you like. Put it on a projector, print a page, set the puzzles as homework, work through the techniques with a class. No permission is needed and there is no classroom licence to buy — being usable that way is the point.

The writing, the technique explanations and the generated puzzle sets belong toPixOpus LLC. Quote them with attribution, link to them, teach from them. Please don't republish them wholesale as your own, or wrap them in advertising and sell them on.

What we promise

Less than you might hope. Every puzzle is checked by an automated solver before it is published, and every technique page is checked before it goes live — but mistakes are possible. Telling us at [email protected] is the fastest way to get one fixed.

The site is provided as it is. It may be unavailable, it may change, and pages may be rewritten or removed. Nothing here is professional, financial or educational advice, and it is not a substitute for a curriculum.

Your progress

Which puzzles you have solved is kept in your own browser, not on a server. We cannot see it, restore it, or move it to another device for you — clearing your browser data deletes it permanently. If it matters to you, export it.

Children

There is no account to create and no personal information collected, so there is nothing for a child to sign up to and nothing about them for us to hold. What is and is not counted is set out in the privacy policy.

Liability

The site is free and provided as it is, without warranties of any kind — express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, PixOpus LLC is not liable for any damages arising from using the site or being unable to use it — including lost data, lost time, or decisions made in reliance on a page. You paid nothing, and the total liability matches: if a court finds some liability can't be excluded, it is capped at what you paid us, which is zero unless the law sets a floor.

None of that limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, and none of it is an excuse for us not to fix mistakes — see above for how to report one.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Indiana, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that ends up in court belongs in the state or federal courts located in Indiana, and both sides consent to that venue. Before it gets anywhere near that, an email to [email protected] resolves almost anything — there is no dispute we would rather have than fix.

If part of this can't be enforced

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, that part is trimmed to the minimum the law requires and the rest stands. These terms are the whole agreement about using the site; nothing said anywhere else adds to them.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top says when they last did. Continuing to use the site after a change means the new version applies.
